Just a quick email, I did my bosiet and mist with yourselves 5 months ago and have successfully gotten an offshore ad hoc Job with an inspection company, I originally did a month working for them first onshore at a dry dock on an fpso, not quite offshore but close. This has lead into getting offshore with them currently on the Montrose Alpha. I Hope everybody else is still working the phone and sending out cv's which I spent weeks upon weeks doing, as most company's want someone with previous experience without giving them the chance to gain it. Just remember getting a start onshore in a related environment can lead to being offshore very quickly! Regards, Andy M

" Thanks for the excellent standard of training I received doing my MIST/BOSIET in March 2013. The information given by the instructors in addition to the course content was relevant & useful I completed my HSE Offshore Medic training in Aberdeen at the end of May. I received my first work at the start of July (onshore) for 2 weeks in a gas terminal in the north east of England. I am currently on my second job, this time I am offshore, on a flottel with Prosafe & have been offered a short term contract. There are definitely opportunities in this industry and I would encourage people to give it a try. Start by doing your MIST/BOSIET training with Effective Offshore, it is definitely a step in the right direction. I would like to say a special thank you to Buster and Eamonn who were our instructors for the week. No doubt I will see you again for my refresher in a few years. All the best for the future, Bryan C

" Hi Guys, Just wanted to send you all a message. I did my MIST and BOSIET a couple of months ago with intention of looking for work in north sea. After getting knocked back a lot due to no experience offshore / I looked further afield. I am currently working in South Korea as an Permit Coordinator on construction of 3 offshore rigs that are due to sail to Qatar end of August. I will then have 6 weeks off, then head back to Qatar on 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off. It was having my OPITO approved training that help me get this job. All I could advise people is further than the North Sea. Opito is truly recognised world wide. Thanks for the training guys will be back again to add courses soon. Patrick C. "

" I have been keeping busy sending off CV's and emails in the past few weeks, even went as far as Aberdeen to the expo last week, went out to Dyce the following day and handed out a load of CV's to company's, made the effort! I think its paying off though, I got a call on Monday to start with Wood Group PLC this week as a Pipe fitter out on the Perenco, I think it's called, for two trips initially, two week on and two off, just what I wanted. Just waiting for a call today, to find out when I'm flying out, I have to do a few days training first as I'm a new start, which I am glad off, then I'm off. Fingers crossed it goes well for me. Anyway, just wanted to let ye know the Craic, thanks for all the help and advice I got when I was at Effective Offshore. Kindest Regards, Pat Curran. "
